Research interests:
- Geometry: algebraic,
analytic and symplectic. I work mostly on topology of closed
Kähler and symplectic manifolds. I am a member of the Geometry and
Topology research group at UPC, Barcelona, Spain, and a regular
collaborator of the Seminari de
Geometria Algebraica de Barcelona and the Seminario
Gesta on symplectic topology with algebraic techniques, held mostly
in Madrid, Spain.
- Material science:
my
work is in the computation of critical currents on superconductors, by
solving the inverse Biot-Savart problem. This has been done in
collaboration with the group on magnetic
and superconductor materials at ICMAB, Barcelona, Spain. With this
group I develop the program caragol for the computation of
critical currents on 3-d bulk samples, which is available for its free,
universal use at the web http://jaumetor.upc.es/caragol.
Professional interests:
- Digitalization of
mathematical literature: I have been comissioned by the Catalan Mathematical Society for
the digitalization of Catalan and Spanish mathematics research
journals,
and to serve in the Comité
Español de Matemáticas, advising on electronic
communication and information.
- Publication of
mathematics: I am the coordinating editor for the Publications
of the Catalan Mathematical Society, a just started
endeavour in which the Catalan Mathematical Society publishes books
dually as a free pdf file on the web and as a paper book at a
competitive price, through a print-on-demand service. Manuscripts are
welcome!
